Welcome to Spring in Metrolina: Time (for your lawn) to Shine!

Your lawn will never look better.

Spring is when you see the fruits of your labor and think: I figured it out! Your lawn will look so good that neighbors will stop, bend down, and touch your grass to make sure it’s not fake. What you do in the early months not only determines how good your lawn will look in May but it also preps your lawn to handle summer heat, drought, weeds, and disease. The goal is to wake the lawn up gently, clean up winter damage, and get ahead of weeds—without rushing into the wrong activities too soon.

The Big Picture

  • Fescue starts growing. Growth begins again as temps warm into the 50s and 60s.
  • Weeds are ready to pop. Especially poa, crabgrass, dandelion, and clover.
  • Soil health is key. Early disease prevention too.
  • Timing matters more than specific products. Don’t let one nice weekend in February trick you into doing everything at once.

What To Do (and What NOT To Do) This Spring
